DESCRIPTION:The Franco-American Collection at the ĐÓ°É´«Ă˝ and the Alliance Française du Maine invite you to La Francophonie in Maine…Qu’est ce que c’est? Join us at the ĐÓ°É´«Ă˝â€™s Lewiston campus\, 51 Westminster St. in Lewiston\, on March 19\, 2025 at 6 pm for the event. There is no fee for our programs\, which are made possible by the QuĂ©bec Delegation in Boston and by TV5MONDE. \nThis collaboration between the USM Franco-American Collection and the Alliance Française du Maine is our second panel event under the same name–the first took place in March\, 2022. This time\, we will feature panelists representing Burundi\, Canada\, Chad\, France\, Haiti\, the Ivory Coast and the US. Panelists will discuss: how the French language has influenced their lives\, their hopes for the future of the French language in Maine\, and passing French on to the next generation. \nEach panelist will give a short presentation\, with a Q&A to follow. \n  \nFor more information or to register\, contact the FAC archivist\, Anna Faherty at anna.faherty@maine.edu or by phone (207) 753-6545.
