Darla joined the Social & Behavioral Sciences department as the administrative specialist in the fall of 2019. In addition, she is the internship coordinator for SBS. She earned her Master of Science degree in Adult and Higher Education at USM in the spring of 2024. She enjoys helping students achieve their academic and career goals and is thrilled to work with the amazing faculty in the SBS department. She believes every adult is capable of learning and growing – and that believing in yourself is the first and most important step.

She was the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL) Emerging Scholarship award recipient in 2022. She was nominated for the USM Classified Senate Staff Commendation Award in 2024. She is certified as a level 2 Reiki practitioner and has served as a hospice volunteer. She lives in the sticks with her husband, two kids, and two very opinionated gray tabby cats – Maggie Mae and Gracie Mac. She loves to read new age books, write humor, play piano, hang out at the beach, and play Fortnite.
