Accessing support is one of the most important things you can do if you have experienced some form of harassment or interpersonal violence. Many folks will get support from friends and family, or a trusted campus advisor or the Deputy Title IX Coordinator. The following resources, however, are completely confidential and will not share your information without permission.

Confidential Resources on Campus

These on-campus resources will keep your information confidential unless there is a direct threat to safety. They will only share de-identified information with the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for reporting purposes.

Ordained Chaplains

A number of individuals volunteer their time to support the USM community through the University Religious and Spiritual Life Council. If an individual is ordained in their faith tradition, they will have the privilege of confidentiality. If they are a layperson (not ordained), they are still considered a mandated reporter and must share details with the Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

Confidential Support to Students and Employees

Confidential Resource Advisors (CRAs) provide information, assistance, and support to individuals impacted by sexual violence, relationship violence, and stalkig. We also engage in prevention education and outreach related to interpersonal violence. We aim to foster awareness, healing, and resilience across the University of Maine System and within our broader communities.
